Adult vaccination

Adult vaccination is the process of administering vaccines to individuals who have reached the age of 18 or older / Mandatory for Foreign Travel as per State Protocol Guidelines. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent many diseases that can cause serious illness, hospitalization, and even death. Vaccines work by stimulating the body's immune system to create an immune response to a specific pathogen or disease.

There are several vaccines recommended for adults, including the annual flu vaccine, tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (Tdap) vaccine, shingles vaccine, and pneumococcal vaccine. Depending on an individual's age, health status, and other risk factors, their healthcare provider may also recommend other vaccines, such as the hepatitis A and B vaccines, HPV vaccine, and meningococcal vaccine.

It's important for adults to stay up-to-date on their vaccinations to protect themselves and those around them from vaccine-preventable diseases. If you're unsure about which vaccines you may need.

Pregnancy Immunization

Pregnancy immunization refers to the process of vaccinating pregnant women against certain diseases to protect both the mother and the developing fetus from infection. Immunization during pregnancy can provide passive immunity to the newborn, as the antibodies produced by the mother can be transferred to the fetus through the placenta.

The vaccines recommended during pregnancy include:

  1. Influenza vaccine: Pregnant women are advised to receive the flu vaccine during the flu season to protect themselves and their newborns from the flu.

  2. Tdap vaccine: Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. It is recommended during pregnancy, preferably between 27 and 36 weeks, to provide passive immunity to the newborn against pertussis.

  3. COVID-19 vaccine: Pregnant women are recommended to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to protect themselves and their unborn babies from COVID-19 infection.

It is important to consult with a healthcare provider before getting any vaccine during pregnancy to ensure that it is safe and appropriate.
